Marleen-Cain
Marleen Cain, President

Marleen is retired from the A.D. Oliver MIddle School where she was the Building Secretary. She has been rowing since 2013 and totally enjoys being on the water and working with others to move the boat. Marleen has two grown children and two granddaughters. Last year was the first time rowing on the canal in Brockport and she is working hard to expand rowing opportunities for anyone that wants to learn how to row.

Margay Blackman
Margaret Blackman, Vice President

Margay Blackman, as Mayor of Brockport, in 2015 set the wheels in motion to bring rowing to Brockport, applying for grants and seeking donations, to build a dock and boathouse. The process took 10 years and faced opposition from some of the local and vocal public who did not believe rowing belonged in Brockport. A transfer of land in 2023 from SUNY Brockport to the Village provided the site for construction of the boathouse which was completed in June, 2025. Margay took up rowing in 2015 and looks forward to fund-raising for BCR and expanding its presence on the Erie Canal.
