Leadership & Governance
Guiding the Future of Brockport Community Rowing
Brockport Community Rowing’s Board of Directors is committed to serving Brockport and the surrounding community through thoughtful leadership and stewardship. By providing governance, fiduciary oversight, and program support, the board strives to expand and strengthen rowing on the Erie Canal in Western Monroe County.
Our Board
John Keiser, Treasurer
John Keiser is a Village resident and has taught management courses at SUNY Brockport's School of Business and Management since 2001.
Jim Martin, Safety Director
Jim Martin joined BCR early on and became a board member after finding out that a rowing program was getting started in Brockport. He rowed for the Cornell lightweight crew from 1967-70. Since that time he’s stayed active with rowing mostly with a Concept 2 ergometer and on the water whenever possible. BCR will provide more opportunities for on-the-water rowing. He is a member of the Brockport Lions Club and the Monroe County Farm Bureau.
Archie Kutz, Director
Born in Brockport. Raised on Holley St on the banks of the Erie Canal where the Boathouse is now located. Graduate McGill University, BA in Political Science. Cofounder of Lift Bridge Book Shop and co-owner 1972 to 2015. Currently a Board Member of Brockport Community Rowing and Brockport Community Museum.
Kelley Stoll, Director
Kelley Stoll is a tenured English as a New Language (ENL) teacher at Hilton High School. She is a seasoned, competitive rower of 18 years and has been actively working to bring rowing to the westside of Monroe County, since 2010. Kelley is married and the mother of two adult sons and a growing number of grandchildren. She looks forward to continuing to develop Brockport Community Rowing to its full potential by bringing more people to the sport of rowing.
Ben DiMatteo, Director
A founding board member of BCR, Ben grew up quite literally in the footprint of the Brockport Village Boathouse and served as a coxswain on the novice crew team at Ithaca College.
Henry Kemblowski, Director
Henry discovered rowing as a student at SUNY Geneseo, where he rowed for the university’s club team from 2023-2024. He also served as the team’s President and Public Relations Director. Prior to rowing, Henry ran Cross Country and Track & Field at Brockport High School (class of 2021). After discovering that a rowing program was starting in Brockport, Henry joined BCR’s board in January of 2025. Henry is very excited to help BCR grow and to introduce new people to the sport of rowing!
Connect With the Board
The Brockport Community Rowing Board meets periodically and provides transparency in board governance that involves openly communicating decisions, policies, and actions to members to build trust, enhance accountability, and prevent misconduct.
